Morgan Smith
Morgan Smith, a student from Columbia College and Mannes College of Music at The New York Philharmonic's Columbia University, was a Seattle Opera Young Artist (1999-2000). In 2001, he began his career in Billy Budd as Donald. Smith is a Seattle favorite and has played roles in twelve other productions which include Don Giovanni, Silvio in I Pagliacci (title role), Riccardo I Puritani, Peter Niles Mourning Becomes Electra, as well as Count Alamaviva In Le nozze di Figaro. He is a regular performer in the concert hall, Mr. Smith made his Dallas Symphony debut with Bach's St. Matthew Passion, and was also featured as a member of the San Antonio Symphony for the North American premiere of Vier Praludien und Ernste Gesange, Detlef Glanert's orchestral interpretation of the well-loved cycle written by Brahms. Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, the Requiems composed by Brahms and Faure and Mozart as well as the masses in C Minor and G Minor composed by Vaughan Williams, Bach's B Minor Mass as well as numerous cantatas and H ndel's Messiah, L'Allegro il Penseroso and il Moderato, The Creation, Haydn's The Creation, Lord Nelson Mass and Haydn's The Creation are also included as part of the repertoire for concert performances.
