Claire Elise Boucher is a Canadian musician and singer from Canada. [2][3] The range of her earlier music has been called "lo the fi R&B" and "futuristic dance-pop". In addition, she has used elements of hip hop electronic, rock and hip hop. She often uses science fiction and feminist themes in the lyrics. The band has released five albums. Grimes was raised in Vancouver but later relocated to Montreal. She started her independent music career in late in the 2000s. In 2010, she dropped two albums via Arbutus Records, Geidi Primes (and Halfaxa), respectively. The album was released in 2012 and Visions the third album she released on her studio. She signed with 4AD. Visions features the singles "Genesis" and "Oblivion" and received the Canadian music industry's Juno Award for Electronic Album of the year. The album that she released as her fourth studio effort Art Angels was released in the year 2015. It received high praise by critics and a variety of journals voted it as the best album. [6] Her fifth album Miss Anthropocene, was launched in the year 2020. Grimes was also an actor and judge in Alter Ego's competitions for music, was a vocalist on the album Cyberpunk 2077 which was released 20th of January, 2020.
